The MLA is pleased to announce the launch of a new web portal featuring detailed mapping of roads at risk of flooding, recently published by the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority.
Through this portal, you can access detailed maps that clearly show which sections of your roads do not meet the safe access criteria, potentially impacting future building permits.
As many of you know, this new information is the outcome of extensive collaboration between the MLA and the MVCA. While the initial information provided by the MVCA was helpful, it lacked the detail necessary for a road association to take action. In response to the MLA's request for more specifics, Matt Craig and his team developed these maps. With this new info, a road association can now precisely identify the problem areas on their roads.
To elevate sections that are too low, RAs should consult with the MVCA for planning assistance and arrange a permit and legal survey to confirm finished grades. RAs can then obtain quotes and discuss the situation with their members.
