FOCA - Federation of Ontario Cottagers' Associations
FOCA is a not-for-profit membership organization that started out in 1963 with 125 people representing 40 cottage associations
Today, FOCA represents 50,000 families in more than 525 associations across the province. FOCA has 3 full-time staff, a volunteer Board of Directors, and the office is located in Peterborough in the Kawarthas.

FOCA's aim is to represent the interests and give voice to cottage associations throughout Ontario, and to assist waterfront property owners who live at the water, either seasonally or year-round.
RAs should consider FOCA membership
FOCA is specifically geared to small and medium sized road associations like the many associations around Mississippi Lake. FOCA is able to provide an incredible amount of support and information to its Members. Numerous benefits are available for associations and individuals within those assocations. RAs are encouraged to review what FOCA has to offer.

A major benefit that RAs should really explore is the availability of a discount for insurance through Cade Associates, who have partnered with FOCA to provide insurance specifically designed for cottage and road associations. While circumstances and coverage requirements will vary from RA to RA, a 20% discount for FOCA members is a good general starting estimate.
