In 2021 the MLA entered into a pilot project with DataStream to record water quality testing data in an open access website. This website provides a place for water monitors and researchers to share their data and increase the reach and impact of their work. By bringing together water data in one place, DataStream provides a clearer picture of freshwater health and a stronger foundation for making informed decisions.

DataStream takes the data we generate from our Water Rangers Citizen Science water testing program and uploads it to their Great Lakes DataStream (GreatLakesDataStream.ca) on a weekly basis.
