Most if not all people living in an rural environment around the lake are deprived of two major services that municipal dwellers usually take for granted: potable water and sewage.

So, how to deal with that? Having a big lake at your doorstep doesn't automatically mean you have access to clean and healthy potable water. And, a rural surrounding is not really the right place into which to pump your liquid waste.
